    Frequently asked questions

    How long can the words be?

    As long as the grid is wide: up to 8 letters on a 8 × 8 grid and 18 on 18 × 18. Spaces, hyphens and accents are left out of the grid but kept in the word list.

    What if a word doesn’t fit?

    The maker tells you which words it couldn’t place. Choose a bigger grid, fewer words, or press “New puzzle” to try another layout.

    What changes between easy, medium and hard?

    Easy hides words left to right and top to bottom. Medium adds diagonals. Hard also hides words backwards, in all eight directions.

    Is there an answer key?

    Yes, on its own page, with every word outlined in the grid.

    Is my word list sent anywhere?

    No. The puzzle is made in your browser, and your words are kept only in this browser.
