    Frequently asked questions

    What do the lines mean?

Capital letters and tall letters reach the top line, small letters reach the dashed middle line, and every letter sits on the coloured baseline. Tails on g, j, p, q and y drop below it.

    Which size should I choose?

Large rows are ¾ in, 19 mm tall, for children just starting to write, with 6 rows on a Letter page. Medium suits early readers, and small suits children who already write neatly.

What is the difference between trace and copy?

Trace prints your words in faded grey to write over. Copy prints them dark, with a blank row underneath to write them out alone. Trace, write mixes the two.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. The sheet is made in your browser, and the words are kept only in this browser so they are there next time.

Can I make a name tracing worksheet?

Yes. Type the child’s name on its own line, choose Trace or Trace, write and turn on “Repeat to fill the page” for a full sheet of their name.
